The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), now in its second century of service, remains committed to its dual mission of providing products and services to military families worldwide and generating earnings to supplement military morale, welfare and recreation (MWR) programs.

While most of AAFES’ earnings go to quality of life programs –– over $308 million in 2023 –– the remainder funds new and improved Exchange stores.  In addition to strengthening troops’ quality of life, AAFES saves authorized shoppers money with an average overall savings of 20 percent compared to the competition.

The mission of the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) is to provide our customers quality goods and services at a savings and to contribute to Navy quality of life programs. As a quality of life resource for the Navy, the “NEX” understands and appreciates the sacrifices that our Sailors and their families make for all of us.

Military members and their families save an average of 20 percent on all the products they purchase, not including sales tax. In addition, their pricing strategy ensures that they are getting the best brands and best buys. Plus, since 1946, NEXCOM has contributed over  billions to Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) programs. Their goal is to make each sailor and their family a customer for life

The Mission of the Coast Guard Exchange is to provide quality merchandise and services of necessity and convenience to our Coast Guard men and women as well as authorized patrons at competitive prices. CGX is a military activity that operates as a business enterprise. Income generated is used as working capital to maintain CGX locations throughout the United States and abroad as well as to provide the Coast Guard with supplemental funding to the Morale, Well-Being, and Recreation (MWR) fund. Because CGX provides services to its customers in remote areas, some locations operate with little or no profit as a benefit to military service members and their families.
